Countdown to Xmas

The count down to Xmas has started, the xmas tree is up and has fallen over again (see pic above). Most gifts are wrapped but there's still the shopping to go. This years soundtrack is Madonna's latest cd, a lot of dance music. We tried it on the neighbours last weekend and I dare say we did wake them up with a bang, oupps! They are lucky we don't jump on the floor all the time!

Last night we had a house dinner consisting of not home-made chicken Kievs with un-home-made roast potatoes and non-home-frozen peas and store-bought profiteroles, yum.

Erika has gone back to Sweden for the holidays so Christian and I have the house to ourselves and we can do what we want hahahaha. We've threatened to toilet-paper Erika's room but obviously we have to wait until after xmas in case someone needs to stay there! (Erika is having hot-flushes now) Calm down dear, it's only a commercial! We are going to watch all of Erika's favorite dvds and comedy shows as well!

Today at work we had secret santa and this time I had someone sensible who bought me something girly - I got blue eye shadow and sparkly lip gloss! ABBA here I come! Then suddenly one of our managers invite us to a caipirinha party at 17.00 so the whole office was hugging a massive drink that went straight to everyone's heads within seconds. We didn't even leave the office on time voluntarily!

And when I got home Christian had been to IKEA to pick up the all-important Xmas breaded-and-cured ham which is central to all Swedish Xmas dinners. We will also have julmust, sill (pickled herring), smoked salmon, fois gras, champagne, meat balls, Jansson's Temptation, snaps, beetroot salad, rice pudding, etc etc. Doesn't sound very appetizing in english, does it...
