It can always get worse
I'm now safely back home, arrived in a nice warm and sunny London yesterday morning. It was a lovely surprise that I could just pull on my new jean skirt and a top and sandals in the middle of October! So I went off to the market in search of ingredients for a curry. Lack of Indian food in Flic en Flac has left me craving curry and anything with chili really!
Anyway, on the day that my stepdad pulls the tap out of the wall Sara and I enjoyed a cloudy day on the beach (doesn't mean you don't tan though). When we got back to the apartment the bathroom was fixed fortunately. However, mom and Karl-Henrik hadn't gone on their tour with their proper tour guide, but had jumped into a different taxi that claimed he was their driver. So they saw everything they were supposed to but on return the guy wanted payment although they had already shown him their voucher from the agency before they had set off! So they took the guy to the police who sorted everything out.
Then on Saturday, Day 7, it rains a lot and it's not easy staying on the beach. We thought the previous day was bad! But Sara's bag arrived!!! The first time she managed to get through on the phone they had good news that the bag was already on its way to our apartment! Excellent news! It was all down to Sara who realized they may have mixed up our baggage tags on the luggage itself but I couldn't check mine as I thought I had already thrown it away! But with some help from Erika we added my tagnr to the file so it could be delivered.
On Day 8 we had brilliant weather for a change so we couldn't stay on the beach all day whithout burning to a crisp. So we went back to the flat for a quick rinse not knowing that we were using up the last of our water. Later in the day we find out that the water pump had stopped working when I tried to flush the loo. We didn't manage to get it properly fixed either so Day 9, our last day I had a cold wash under the tap and washed my hair with water droplets rather than a nice warm shower.
Then when Sara decided to repack her bag, there was a cockroach inside that we had to chase around the apartment with a bottle of Raid spray. It took half the spray to kill it!
Our last day 9 was also a lovely day, which we promptly spent at the Hilton resort where we enjoyed som luxury before setting off to the airport.
At the airport of course Sara and I have problems checking-in and we have to check in twice. We also have problems transferring terminals at CDG, the police wouldn't let anyone pass through the transit area between the TGV station and 2F so we had to walk around the whole airport to get to 2F. I almost thought there was a bombthreat or other evacuation but when we got to the terminal there was nothing going on there. Just another one of those unexplained events I suppose. Our flights were all fine and we got home without anymore drama. Unless you count that Sara arrived home to a building site and they've ripped out the bathroom in her house so they don't have a shower...
All in all we're not sure what else could happen on a 10-day holiday?
All in all we had a lovely time, just wishing for slightly better weather so we could have spent more time in only our bikinis! xx
