San Ignacio-Posadas

Hola Chicos!

in Posadas now waiting for the bus to take us to GualeguaychĂș near Buenos Aires. I'm still with Scottish Dawn and Austrian Regina and we are hopefully meeting up with Londoners Rebecca and Joe that we met in Foz do Iguacu. There should be a carneval there tomorrow hopefully.

Yesterday we left Puerto IguazĂș right when it started to rain and it rained right until we got off the bus in San Ignacio. There we stayed in a Hospedaje run by an old Austrian couple. San Ignacio is a tiny village where you can visit the ruins from a Jesuit mission. The whole area here is called missiones because of all the Jesuit missions around here and on the Paraguayan border. It was a nice stop and we didn't get anymore rain except for breakfast this morning. Breakfast consisted of white homebaked bread and home-made jam and really good coffee. Coffee hasn't been excellent as the Missiones is home to the Mate drink that resembles green tea, but much more bitter. Mate is drunk out of a special cup through a metal straw with a filter at the bottom. Have to get one!

Otherwise food here consists mostly of steak, fries, salad and pizza-pasta. In San Ignacio they made the fries themselves, yum. As you can imagine salad and fruit here is excellent and there are fruit trees everywhere. All the gardens have lime, avocado, grapefriut, guava trees etc. Had a fantastic mango here, tastes like it should taste!

After the carneval we're hoping to cross into Uruguay to get to the beach for a couple of days and then my holiday will have reached the end :( Already planning my next holiday/unpaid leave. It's a really great place to travel here and so easy! No hassle from anyone, not even with our blond hair!

So until next time, chao de las tres chicas!
