Too Busy to Blog - The Office
Hi, sorry guys for not updating you on my recently busy life :D
Lots has been going on in this past month so where to start?
First of all my work has moved to new offices so I no longer get a sleep-in every morning, as I used to, living practically next door. Now I have to take the tube out to Hatton Cross every day with signalling failures plagueing my tube line lately. But it takes more or less 1hr door to door so not too bad really. And I have the luxury of flexi-time so I can choose my own hours, it's just the best!
So with the closure of our offices came my boss's retirement party where everyone showed up in Indian dress, quite funny really. The party was held at our top UK boss's flat(s) in South Kensington. Nice to see how some people live ;) Half a week later we closed the ticket office down town and celebrated with another party. I can't begin to tell you how pleased I was to see the back of that place!
Then there were more celebrations for the last day of our head office, which basically meant drinking wine before lunch and then everyone left as early as possible to enjoy their day off. I had to go to the opticians of course a bit blurry-eyed haha but thankfully my prescription is more than perfect as it is!
Our new office is situated underneath the runway so I get to see planes land and take-off from Heathrow. On our breaks we go out to smell the kerosene and enjoy the jet noise with our coffee. Lovely! The new office is like a cocoon as we don't leave all day as we have a canteen that serves quite good food. As it's summer we get to eat outside on a bit of grass next to our parking lot. The area surrounding our offices is dodgy and colorless so there's nowhere to go anyway! We have the juvenile detention centre down the road and a gay cruising area in a park nearby and a large busy road we walk next along to and from work. Doesn't it just sound great!?
But with the great weather it's hard to get depressed about it ;)
