Neighbours - My Street - Observations
I have a singing neighbour! He is "always" in his front garden singing away, but I only notice if my windows are open. It's a lot of la-la-la but ok.
My basement neighbours are all from Poland but we don't actually know how many people actually live downstairs but we do know they like loud Polish techno! Their visitors always have to knock on their door for ages before anyone answers the door. They also sit in the garden a lot. We imagine their flat is full of bunkbeds.
Next door we actually have an acquarium! The room is painted a deep blue with a wire lamp hanging from the ceiling looking like a school of fish. I wonder if they found Nemo?
We also have some "council" neighbours but we're not sure if they live in council housing or not, but the houses are more run down than us others and they all have small children and the children are always playing outside and the parents stand on each others doorsteps talking and smoking. I suppose that's why they don't take the children to the park on the other side of the block.
It's a nice street to live on, very quiet and I'm able to sleep with the windows open at night without being woken by terrible noise like I used to on Castletown Road.
Yesterday a white dog was bitten by brown dog and the brown dog wouldn't let go so the white dog kept screaming until several minutes later about 5 adults managed to pull them apart. That was the noisiest my street has been since I moved here.
The man has stopped singing now. The sun has set. Goodnight.
